#MovieWednesday

In honour of it's 10th Anniversary, this weeks movie is, yes you guessed it! The now classic chic flick, Mean Girls! Now we all know about Mean Girls, there's no need for me to explain anything about it to you.

As it's Wednesday I'm assuming you're all wearing pink; 'on Wednesdays we wear pink' - Karen

I've seen the movie a good 100x I would say and yes I always aimed to perfect the shit out of THAT dance routine (didn't we all?!) *coughs* 'I'm sick' < that was my moment! I always felt like Karen Smith was deep down inside of me helping me perfect those two words. We thank you Karen for that oh so fetch line of yours! I've actually ordered a 'burn book' phone case however it is yet to arrive.

I would watch it today however, unfortunately I don't have the time, I'd also like to take a moment to apologise for not posting anything for about a week or so now; I've been really busy and uni deadlines are not oh so far away so apologies if I'm not posting as regularly lately.

#MovieWednesday

This weeks movie is Freedom Writers. Starring Hilary Swank; it is a drama based on the book 'The Freedom Writers Diary' by teacher Erin Gruwell. Based in 1993-1996, Erin Gruwell (played by Hilary Swank) leaves her safe hometown and teach at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach.
She soon realises that despite her enthusiasm the students are rather 'unteacheable.' The movie focuses on topics such as racism and crime. Gruwell manages to find a teaching method which begins to help get enthusiasm out of the students as she finally gains respect also. It is one of my favourite films with a great meaning behind it and opens your eyes to the world of racism and crime etc. so if you're currently on your summer holiday already (Me! Who else?! Raise your hands with me out of excitement bitchessss wooooo) anyway, yh deffo watch this movie you won't regret it.

Elie Saab

FANGIRL MOMENT! CALLING ALL FASHION LOVERS!

If you don't know who Elie Saab is in the fashion world (which shouldn't even be possible!) then maybe this blog post will convert you into loving him and loving him forever. He's an incredible fashion designer from Lebanon, known for his attention to detail when creating his gorgeous gowns. He first grabbed the fashion worlds attention in 2002 when actress Halle Berry chose to wear a Elie Saab gown, getting everybody talking!

The world had finally noticed Elie Saab and soon becoming a celebrity favourite! His attention to detail is beautifully showcased in his Spring 2014 fashion show.

He also however, showcased several other gowns that were still as beautiful but going down the simplistic route instead.

He finished the show with the most exquisite wedding gown that I've ever laid my eyes on!

Seriously guys! These photographs are just getting me so emotional because the gowns are just so, so, soo beautiful!!!

This was a little different from my usual posts but I just couldn't help myself, had to dedicate a post to the great designer that is Elie Saab. Do let me know if you enjoyed it and if you are a massive fan of his work as I am or if there are any other designers that 'fangirl' over! LOL

Revlon Colorburst Chubby Sticks

So a few weeks ago I bought the new Revlon (now new-ish) Colorburst chubby sticks both from the new range of Colourburst Matte and Lacquer Balms. Both the Matte and Lacquer ranges are available in 10 different shades. I bought two of each.
(From left to right - Viviacious no 120, Demure no 105, Elusive no 205, Audacious no 245

Of the Lacquer Balms range I purchased no120 and no105. The lacquer range are glossy and shiny. I'll admit over the past few months I've been team matte however, lately I've been trying out non-matte lip products a little more and loving it! I'm still deeply and madly in love with matte lip products, despite this though, from time to time we all need to mix it up a little right?

The beautiful high shine lacquer chubby sticks are enriched with the matte range' same formula, enabling it to nourish and smoothly apply onto your lips! It's shiny without the look of a shimmer/glitter lip which I LOVE as I loathe the glitter look. (the picture above isn't doing it half the justice though! so apologies for that) It's pigmentation is great and you only need one or two coats, however I will add that for no105 I personally need about 3-4 layers, my lips are naturally quite dark though which doesn't help when I apply such lighter shades. They are long lasting, around 5-6 hours before you need to re-apply. As it is non-matte it isn't dryingat all instead feeling moisturising and nourishing.

Next up are the matte shades! I purchased two of these also. The matte range is HIGHLY pigmented and for most you will just need one layer, max two! They are also long lasting, you won't really need to re-apply till about 5-6 hours later. When first applied they don't feel matte at all, in my opinion, it feels like a very velvety texture. After a while they do feel a little dry on the lips and that might enable chapped lips to appear a little; but hey listen, it's not gonna always feel or look as smooth as the lacquer balms do (especially a few hours after application) however, it is not THAT bad at all. Everyone knows that matte lip products do sometimes end up a little drying and compared to some others on the market this doesn't leave your lips feel all that dry and you should certainly not glance over and pass by it without purchasing! For anyone looking to purchase some new chubby sticks I highly recommend these. Revlon have started to become known for their reputation of creating great chubby sticks that everyone, if not most, will love.

I've yet to try many other lip products this year so maybe this isn't the most accurate to say but for now, these are definitely the best lip products to have come out in recent months for me. I'm always reaching for them! And I still get super excited over them! ha! I believe they retailed around the £7.99 mark (don't quote me on it though as I did purchase it a few weeks ago, but I'm pretty sure it's around that mark)

So what are you waiting for?! Head on over to your local drugstore and purchase one or two (maybe a cheeky third? Ha) and let me now which one you love the most and if chubby sticks have become the new 'IT' lip products in your make-up collection too!

#MovieWednesday

This weeks movie is P.S. I Love You. It was released in 2007; a drama/romance genre and probably one of the best romance movies. Everyone loves it, it's one of those emotional movies where you'll might need a tissue or two. Starring Hilary Swank and Gerald Butler, based on their characters; Swank's character Holly becomes a young widow as husband Gerry played by Butler passes away.

To help ease his wives pain Gerry has written 10 love letters for his wife intended to help her get through this stage in her life as a widow and finding the courage to start life again. The thing that I love and loathe at the same time about this movie is the fact that instead of displaying the typical fantasy romantic storyline between two individuals it showcases a different side of love where you lose your other half. Furthermore having all your future plans come crashing down as they all, most likely, involved your better half. If you've yet to see it I urge you to watch it, it's truly one of the best!

As always do let me know if you've seen it or will be watching it soon and if you have any movie suggestions for me leave them in the comments below! :)

P.S. I will be uploading another blog post later today (beauty related) so keep an eye out for that!

#MusicMonday

As I can't sleep (it's currently 4:37) I decided to do something with my time and write today's blog post. This weeks song of the moment, goes to, Drake - Days In The East. It was one of his off album releases about 2 weeks ago; the other being Draft Day which is also a great single.

I'm a big fan of Drake, he's one of my favourite rappers atm. I like the way his songs can sometimes feel like it's a medley of 2 or 3 songs combined; his way of switching from singing to rapping is always impressive. And I was also completely bummed about the fact that pretty much everyone had gone to see Drake live when his 'Would You Like A Tour?' Tour arrived to the UK. I best be going next time! And they're best be some sort of surprise performance with Rihanna when I'm there. (How cute are those two together? Hot couple alert!)

#HappySunday

Everyone has their own Defintion of beauty, when someone gives a definition of beauty it most likely is based on outer beauty. We get so caught up in, finding new beauty products that might help our appearance or find the perfect dress that highlights your shape beautifully etc. Which are things that I do and many others do as well and in my opinion beauty on the outside is important. (Some might completely disagree with that and not appreciate this comment but it's true) however, it's important to an extent.

Personality is by far, the most important. If someone is, not loyal, or trustworthy or puts you down perhaps, the individuals that give out mainly negative energy are ones that are ugly to me. I've met individuals in my life who were bitchy and always giving unnecessary digs to either me or/and other people around me. Those are the ones that no matter how 'perfect' they might look on the outside, they'll never have, in my opinion, true beauty. Which leads me to my quote of the week:

"Anyone who takes the time to be kind is beautiful"

#MovieWednesday

This weeks movie is Man On Fire. This is one of my favourites of all time plus Denzel Washington plays the leas role and he's just phenomenal! It was released, a decade ago now. The movie, is of a action, drama and thriller based genre. It's based on Joyhn Creasy (played by Washington) he is hired to protect the Ramos family. As time goes by, their daughter Lupita (played by Dakota Fanning) is kidnapped. Creasy embarks on a journey to bring Lupita home. I'll link the trailer down below so you can get a clearer idea on how freakin amazing the movie is. It's one of those films you don't forget about and will wanna watch again, whilst raving about it to anybody and everybody you know who has yet to see it.

Haul - New Look, Topshop, Zara + more

Today I have a haul for you guys. I haven't done one before so, I thought why not just do that! I love hauls and if you do too then keep reading!

These are some of my recent purchases over the past few weeks from topshop, new look etc.

I had been looking for a leather jacket for WEEKS! A friend of mine was out yesterday and spotted some in stores, so today I went to Stratford to see if I could find any decent jackets. The jacket above is the one I purchased, it's from New Look, has gold zips and is a texture-type item as you can see on half of the front of the jacket and it's sleeves. (It's not real leather btw, for anyone wondering)

I've been lookin for a messenger bag/clutch for a long time also; I came across this in New Look and thought it was really cute, it kinda reminds me of clutches/purses that Prada started doing quite a while back, because of the Daisy's. Obviously this is MUCH much cheaper. The gold strap is what drew me to it even more, it's so simple yet so chic in my opinion.

This top I purchased at Topshop very recently. It's a crop top; it's not one of those super short crop tops but it's not long enough to just be labelled a top, if that made any sense ha! I really love the two contrasting prints, mixed prints can work well if done right.

My next purchase was at Zara. I love this top, especially the back! At first I was unsure about the back but after trying it on I changed my mind. It's a nice little cheeky surprise haha!

This tank top I bought from Primark. I couldn't not buy it, it was only £3! The print and texture of it is beautiful. It is slightly sheer (you can slightly tell on the right hand side of the top?) love the colour + design and can't wait to wear it.

Forever 21 sometimes has absolutely nothing and other times has a TON of great items in store. Atm I am really loving forever 21, their clothes are pretty inexpensive, the quality is good and the clothes are cute. I love this crop top, I wore it with my black skort the other day and got quite a few compliments; It is really beautiful, if you're looking for a floral print crop top I totally recommend! It's so lovely and soft aswell might I add.

I've been meaning to buy a new purse for quite a while now and I finally found one that I really love. This purse is from River Island; tbh I never really shop in river island much but today I went in there for the sole purpose of hopefully finding a new purse, which I finally did! Yay to me, LOL I love this purse it's different from my usual purchases, I tend to go for a black or brown purse, which I think quite a few people do, they do have this particular one in black also but I thought, 'yaknow what I'm gonna go for something different this time'. I love black, black goes with everything however sometimes it can get a little boring plus in this case the white one just simply looked better. :)

Last but not least, I bought this HUGE mug from Next Home. I freakin love it and I'm so excited to have my soup or a huge cup coffee/tea in it. The colour is cute and it's just very practical for people who find that their current large mugs are not actually large enough. If that's you, go to a Next near you, or purchase it online cuz  I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get a lot of use out of them. Not gonna lie, this is probably the purchase that I'm most excited about LOL!

That's all for today, hope you enjoyed my first haul, and it was a fashion one aswell! I do enjoy hauls and hopefully you enjoyed mine and maybe I'll start doing them more? Please always feel free to let me know what kind of posts you would like and also if you like this post! Love to hear your feed back :)

DITL: Museum of London

Day in the life
Excuse my lack of posts this week, I'll hopefully be posting regularly from next week. Yesterday I had a trip to the Museum of London, as part of one of my history modules at university. I'd never been so I didn't know much about what I was going to see, in the end though it ended up being pretty good. Stupidly, I didn't take my camera with me so I just took photos on my iphone instead; so sorry about the quality but, I thought I'd share it anyway. If you're not a fan of posts heavily filled with photos than I apologise also, cuz this is one of those. If you do though, than enjoy and hope you like it! :)

As you can tell, this was my favourite part of the museum haha! Doubt they had lollipops and iPhones back in those days tho, ha! P.S. The bed was actually not that uncomfortable, I was surprised.

After the museum, me and my uni friend, Khatoon, got hungry (surprise, surprise) we decided to go get a bite to eat. Unfortunately, I've stupidly forgotten the name of the restaurant (forgive me? Pretty please) however what I can remember is that it was pretty freakin good! (Again, sorry about forgotting the name) The place was in Ilford and I think it's new actually. Or I just never noticed it before..ha!

I'm not gonna lie, the best part about it is the cups that your drinks came in; as you can see they were jars. How cool is that!? Maybe it was just us but, I think we were just as excited, if not more, about the jars than the food! I think it's great and quite clever when restaurants add a bit of authenticity. If you're a fam of burgers than you would pretty much love this place. You had the option of creatong your own burger or choose from one of their own recipes, I chose the chicken classic with chips, my friend created her own burger; you decide which meat you would like, 5 vegetable toppings, sauce and any other extras you fancy in your burger. I'm a bit of a loser, I just really really suck at making decisions so I thought, let me just go with one of their own already made creations instead of deciding what kind of burger I want to create. And ofcourse, as usual I ordered water, I don't drink anything else other than water. (Call me strange but, really not a fan of soft drinks and all that jaz)

Afterwards we went to a shisha place, also in Ilford, called eclipse. I don't really smoke shisha (not a big fan) despite this though, you can still have a great time there, as long as you're surrounded by fun peeps! We played blackjack with some other people there, and I beat them all! Mhuahahahaha! LOL, I was having a good blackjack day.

Hope you enjoyed this post, excuse it being so long! Speak to you soon.
