First attempt at making chilli con carne with Jenni and it was beaut!
Hello everyone, hope you're having a great Monday. Aren't Monday's just the best! (Sarcasm to the up most extreme) I was suppose to go to college today but then I woke up at like almost 12 and was way too tired.Anyway, enough about that; todays blog is on mine and Jenni's attempt at making Chilli con carne and it actually worked! We were quite gassed and pleased with ourselves cuz we actually managed to do it like probs (well in our opinion) we got out step-by-step guide off of the BBC website, I think, I'm sure, let me just check that for ya...yup it was BBC I'll post the link in this blog so you guys can see what we had done instead of me attempting to explain it to you, very, very badly.
Chilli con carne step by step guide
Some of the ingredients on the BBC's step by step guide we did not have, the ingredients that we used you can see in the image down below, although I should also add that the picture doesn't show the garlic, tomato puree and beef stock that we also used.
- Rice from Asda (it says put in for around 15 min in boiled water but we had it in there throughout the time that we were cooking the chilli con carne so it was MUCH longer than that and our rice was quite sticky and soft, if you do not like it like that then check on it every now and again and until it looks like how you want it keep it in the boiling water)
- The spices used were hot chilli, paprika and cumin (from tescos they were about 95p each)
-We used 250g of mince beef (again fromt tescos, minus the rice we got everything from tescos the day before as I had mentioned in my previous blog about my other day with Jen)
- One onion (Im pretty sure you can use can type of onion you've got)
- Can of tomatoes
- Can of kidney beans
(^ those are the ingredients in the image)
I stupidly forgot to take a picture of the final result -_- I know I'm sorry, I'll try remember for next time. We ended up with plenty of rice and Chilli con carne and I stuffed my face till I was too full, I couldn't finish my food, I only had a little bit left though lol
Oh and before all of this, I FINALLY got round to watching 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' see I'd seen half of it about 2-3 x but for some strange reason never the end, the movie was hilarious and if you haven't seen it I totally recommend it! As the weather was lovely yesterday after the movie we chilled out in Jen's garden till I got way to hungry and thats when we made out food :)
Have a great rest of the week, and I will be blogging again probably Wednesday about my favourite Tv shows in the past and present, so watch out for that blog! Till then guysss
D xoxo
